Wwii Posters
What would a WWII Russian propaganda poster say?
I have to do a propaganda poster for my history class and cannot think of anything to put on a Russian one.
Oh, and if anyone has any ideas on what I should draw with the text that would be very helpful.

Basically every russian propaganda poster that I saw has Stalin and the Soviet Union flag quenching Hitler or the Third Reich.

WWII $12.78 Plenty of contemporary garage-punk outfits have clearly learned a lot about sneering, cheap guitars and fuzztone from wearing out their old Back from the Grave and Teenage Shutdown comps, but Ottawa’s the White Wires are one of the rare bands to pick up on the other important lesson to be learned from ’60s garage rockers: all the snot and snazz in the world doesn’t mean a thing unless you have a great song to go with it. On WWII, the White Wires prove they know plenty about coming up with a killer tune, and in just over 27 minutes, they offer up a dozen songs blessed with great melodies, memorable hooks, and lyrics that are cool, witty, and heartfelt all at once. It’s not hard to imagine that with a little more polish, “Hands,” “Popularity,” “Did You Forget My Name,” or “Let’s Go to the Beach” could be genuine hit singles in some universe, and while on the surface “Be True to Your School (‘Til You Get Kicked Out)” and “Outta My Mind” have enough snarkiness to satisfy any jaded punk rocker, listen to those tunes, hear Ian Manhire airing out the heart on his sleeve, and you know that there’s a great pop band at work beneath this album’s noisy surface. The lo fi production pushes the punk factor to the surface on these sessions, and it’s certainly a key component in the White Wires’ style, but guitarist Hanhire, bassist Luke Martin, and drummer Allie Hanlon are also a tight and admirably concise trio; they don’t just write like a great pop band, they play like one too, and this album will make your heart melt just a little while it’s kicking up the dust, something few bands of this ilk have dared to even try. If you’re looking for some great lo fi fun, WWII delivers, but anyone who wants to hear some top-shelf pop-centric rock & roll really owes it to themselves to give this a listen. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi |

For Rex and for Belgium $137.7 Nearly 60 years after the end of the Second World War, the name Degrelle remains controversial in Belgium and abroad. Was he a traitor to his nation, or a hero for anti-Communism? Until recently, the only information available on the man and his political movement came from Degrelle’s own memoirs, or from works heavily slanted for or against him. Eddy De Bruyne, specialist in WWII Walloon Military Collaboration, has devoted over 20 years to intensively studying the available documentation, as well as interviewing the surviving collaborators of that era, including Degrelle himself. De Bruyne’s findings, set down in several French language publications, represent the most detailed studies of Walloon political and military collaboration yet assembled. World War II Posters $29.95 World War II Posters is a collection of 245 original posters from WWII related to savings and investment, productivity and invention, service and support, environmentalism and conservation, security and trust, freedom and sacrifice, friends and allies, health and safety, and victory gardens. The federal government produced and distributed informational materials to attract and encourage public support for the money, material resources, labor, and personal sacrifices needed to mount a successful war effort. The Office of War Information distributed posters on a national scale to post offices, schools, and railroad stations. Defense Councils in each community were instructed to form a committee to regularly receive posters. The committee determined the number needed by the community, selected posting locations, and set up a route and distribution system. New posters were distributed at the beginning of each month. |
